Job Description

Accru Melbourne is a full-service accounting and financial advisory firm supporting individuals, SMEs, and high-net-worth clients. The firm is seeking an experienced SMSF Accountant to manage self-managed superannuation fund compliance and reporting for a growing client portfolio.

The Role

This full-time role focuses on end-to-end SMSF administration, compliance, and reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with advisors and auditors to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely SMSF outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare SMSF financial statements and annual returns
  • Ensure compliance with superannuation legislation and ATO requirements
  • Coordinate with external auditors and respond to audit queries
  • Process contributions, pensions, rollovers, and benefit payments
  • Maintain accurate SMSF records and documentation
  • Advise clients on compliance obligations and reporting requirements
  • Monitor legislative changes affecting SMSFs
  • Support senior advisors with SMSF strategy implementation

Role Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years Australian experience in SMSF accounting
  • Strong knowledge of SMSF legislation and compliance
  • Experience preparing SMSF financial statements and returns
  • Familiarity with BGL Simple Fund or Class Super software preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and compliance mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple funds and deadlines
  • Professional communication and client service skills
