Job Description

Reporting directly to the Director, you will analyse the organisation's structures, methods, systems and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement. Your recommendations will focus on enhancing customer satisfaction, service reliability, operational efficiency and effective resource utilisation.

You will collaborate closely with managers, employees and contractors to identify organisational gaps, streamline workflows and support the implementation of approved improvements. Operational management, fleet-related decisions and contract administration will remain the responsibility of the relevant managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director in developing improvement objectives, strategies and action plans to enhance operational efficiency, service reliability and resource utilisation.
  • Analyse organisational structures, reporting relationships, approval processes and departmental responsibilities to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct work studies covering booking processes, dispatch documentation, delivery confirmations, invoicing and information exchange procedures.
  • Review workflow charts, operational records, reports, procedure manuals and job descriptions to identify duplication, delays and unclear handovers.
  • Evaluate business systems, process interfaces, information flows and data quality to identify operational inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Identify organisational risks and procedural weaknesses, including undocumented processes, single points of failure and unclear responsibilities.
  • Apply process mapping, gap analysis and root-cause analysis techniques to develop practical and effective solutions.
  • Recommend improvements to organisational methods, procedures, workflows and job functions, supported by documented research and analysis.
  • Support organisational innovation by assessing new working methods, digital forms and system features.
  • Assist managers with implementing approved changes through process trials, implementation plans and updated procedure manuals.
  • Establish relevant process Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and prepare quarterly performance and improvement reports for the Director.
  • Provide procedural guidance and coaching to managers and employees, and develop clear guidance materials for contractors.
  • Maintain an ongoing organisational improvement programme to support continuous operational development.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Management or a related discipline.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in organisational analysis, procedural analysis or business process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of work studies, process mapping, data analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting organisational change initiatives and evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, consultation and report-writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with managers, employees and contractors.
  • Previous experience in the transport or logistics industry is desirable.

Benefits

  • Permanent, full-time employment offering long-term career opportunities.
  • Competitive annual salary of $83,000–$85,000 plus superannuation.
  • Structured 40-hour working week.
  • Opportunity to work directly with the Director and contribute to key organisational improvements.
  • Valuable hands-on experience in organisational analysis, business process improvement and operational efficiency.
