Job Description

Punjab Sweets is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Front Counter Helper to join our team in Truganina, Victoria.

The successful candidate will assist customers, take food orders, handle payments and support smooth daily restaurant operations while maintaining excellent customer service and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
Take dine-in, takeaway and telephone orders accurately.
Operate the POS system and process cash and card payments.
Assist customers with menu items, Punjabi sweets and food enquiries.
Pack takeaway meals, sweets and customer orders carefully.
Maintain cleanliness of the front counter, food displays and dining areas.
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely orders.
Refill packaging materials and other counter supplies as required.
Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures.
Support the team during busy service periods.

Skills & Requirements

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Positive attitude and customer-focused approach.
Basic numeracy and cash-handling ability.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Good teamwork and time-management skills.
Willingness to follow food safety and hygiene practices.
Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
Previous hospitality or customer service experience is preferred but not essential.
