Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed sketches, charts, drawings, and tabulations for residential and commercial building projects.
- Develop accurate 2D and 3D plans for building layouts, floor arrangements, and structural design support.
- Assist civil engineers in interpreting project specifications, technical drawings, and compliance requirements.
- Collect and analyse site data to calculate building dimensions, material requirements, and drafting details.
- Prepare civil drafting drawings for drainage, water supply, sewerage systems, and related building services under the supervision of civil engineers.
- Ensure drafted plans comply with local building codes, construction standards, contract requirements, and project specifications.
- Prepare drawings and documentation to support cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and material planning.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project teams to finalise building design plans, amendments, and revisions.
- Review CAD drawings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project requirements.
- Produce technical documentation, construction drawings, and design records to support smooth project execution.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Design, Drafting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, or other CAD drafting software.
- Strong knowledge of 2D and 3D building drafting for residential and commercial construction projects.
- Basic understanding of building codes, construction standards, planning requirements, and compliance documentation.
- Ability to prepare structural layouts, service drawings, quantity take-offs, and cost estimation drawings.
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with architects, civil engineers, builders, and project teams.
- Ability to manage drafting revisions, follow project instructions, and meet deadlines in a professional construction environment.
