Cook

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook/Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, with a particular focus on Indian cuisine, while maintaining consistently high standards of taste, presentation, hygiene and food safety.

The ideal candidate will have strong culinary skills, relevant qualifications and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while contributing positively to the wider team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and established quality standards.
• Plan menus and contribute to the development of new and seasonal dishes.
• Complete food preparation while maintaining consistency in taste, quality and presentation.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and sanitation in accordance with relevant regulations.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, receiving and inventory management.
• Ensure food products are stored, handled and prepared safely and appropriately.
• Coordinate with kitchen team members to ensure efficient operations and timely service.
• Assist with training and supporting junior kitchen staff when required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen and work area.
• Work effectively during busy service periods while maintaining attention to quality and detail.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of food preparation and commercial cooking techniques.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Cook, Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
• Certificate IV or higher qualification in Cookery, Hospitality or a related field.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in Indian cuisine and the use of Indian spices.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high food-quality standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times.
