Our client, Argus Welding & Fabrication Pty Ltd, is looking for an experienced Welder to join their team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing MIG, TIG and ARC welding, along with custom fabrication work for industrial and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG and ARC welding on steel, aluminium and other metals.
- Manufacture, repair and fabricate metal components as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Fit, align and weld metal components with accuracy and precision.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
- Identify and fix welding defects through welding, cutting, grinding or finishing.
- Monitor heat and temperature during the welding process to ensure proper penetration.
- Grind and smooth welded joints to achieve a clean and professional finish.
- Maintain accurate records of welding tasks, materials used and defects identified.
- Work closely with team members to meet production deadlines.
- Provide input during production discussions to help improve workflow and resolve issues.
- Operate welding equipment, cutting tools and machinery safely.
- Maintain welding tools and equipment through regular checks and basic servicing.
- Wear appropriate PPE and maintain a clean, safe and compliant work area.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Certificate III qualification or higher in welding, fabrication or a related trade.
- At least 1 year of welding experience within the last 5 years.
- Experience with MIG, TIG and ARC welding techniques.
- Good understanding of metal properties, welding quality control and industry standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Good physical fitness and stamina to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
