Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive Construction Operations Manager to join our team at our Williams Landing office. This position focuses on overseeing construction delivery from planning through completion, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality outcomes across multiple projects. The role combines strategic coordination with hands-on operational leadership across sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily construction operations across multiple projects and sites
- Plan workforce requirements and oversee the sourcing and coordination of materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Act as the primary operational link between consultants, site teams, and external stakeholders
- Drive project timelines, ensuring milestones are achieved within approved budgets and schedules
- Review construction methodologies and sequencing to optimise productivity and risk management
- Support procurement processes including subcontractor engagement, scope reviews, and contract administration
- Implement and maintain construction programs, tracking progress and addressing delays or issues proactively
- Ensure all works comply with statutory requirements, Australian Standards, workplace safety regulations, and internal quality procedures
- Manage authority approvals, inspections, and compliance documentation with councils and governing bodies
- Monitor financial performance, variations, and cost controls throughout the construction lifecycle
- Conduct regular site reviews to assess workmanship, safety compliance, and contractor performance
- Provide clear reporting and updates to senior management and project stakeholders
Key Requirements
- Formal qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Building, or a related field
- 1–3 years’ experience in construction operations, site coordination, or project delivery roles
- Solid understanding of Australian construction regulations, compliance processes, and site practices
- Experience working with subcontractors, consultants, and site-based teams
- Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, construction documentation, and schedules
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Confident communicator with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively
- Competency in Microsoft Office and exposure to construction management or scheduling software
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to attend project sites as required
