Job Description

Maharaja Tandoori Cuisine is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook / Tandoori Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will prepare high-quality Indian and tandoori dishes while maintaining excellent food presentation, hygiene, and consistency. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in authentic Indian cooking and thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking

Prepare and cook Indian curries, tandoori dishes, naan, roti, rice, and accompaniments according to restaurant recipes.
Operate the tandoor oven safely and efficiently.
Ensure accurate measurement and preparation of ingredients.
Maintain high standards of taste, texture, and presentation.

Kitchen Operations

Deliver dishes on time during service periods.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas.
Monitor food quality, freshness, and storage standards.
Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimizing wastage.

Teamwork & Support

Work cooperatively with chefs and kitchen staff.
Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen staff when required.
Remain calm and efficient during busy service periods.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills

Strong knowledge of Indian and tandoori cooking techniques.
Ability to prepare consistent, high-quality meals.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Ability to work under pressure.
Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in an Indian restaurant.
Culinary training or certification (advantage but not mandatory).
